How it works

On Bluesky, blocks and list entries are public records. Skylens reads them from the Constellation backlink index and from the account’s own server. Profiles and handle history come from the Bluesky AppView and the PLC directory.

Your searches are not stored. Your browser fetches the data itself when you search. Our server only keeps statistics about the network as a whole.

Questions

Is Skylens an alternative to ClearSky?

Yes. Skylens covers what most people used ClearSky for: who blocks an account, whom it blocks, which blocklists and moderation lists it is on, and its handle history. It is independent and not affiliated with ClearSky.

How can I see who blocked me on Bluesky?

Enter your handle (for example yourname.bsky.social) in the search field above and open the “Blocked by” tab. You will see every account that blocks you, newest first, with the date of the block.

Are blocks on Bluesky public?

Yes. On Bluesky a block is a public record in the blocking account’s data repository, which is how the AT Protocol works. Anyone can read it, including Skylens. Mutes are private and cannot be seen.

Can I find out which moderation lists I am on?

Yes. The “On lists” tab shows every list that contains the account: moderation lists, curated lists and starter packs. For moderation lists it also shows how many people subscribe to them as a block.

Does Skylens store my searches?

No. There is no login, no cookies and no tracking. Your browser queries the public data sources directly, and your search only lives in the part of the address after the #, which never reaches our server. The one exception is the “Labels” tab: some labelers do not allow requests from a browser, so our server passes those requests on. Nothing is logged or stored, and the labeler only sees our server, not you.

Where do the statistics come from?

Small services on our server read the public Bluesky Jetstream (blocks, list events, posts) and the PLC directory (new identities, moves between servers). They only keep hourly or daily totals, no individual events, and delete per-account counts after eight days. Servers, labelers, feeds and moderation lists come from the Bluesky relay, the Bluesky AppView and Constellation.

Can I see which labels my account has?

Yes. The “Labels” tab asks Bluesky’s own moderation and every reachable labeler whether they have labelled the account or its posts, and shows each label with the labeler and the date.

Which PDS servers are there and how many accounts do they have?

Every Bluesky account lives on a server called a PDS. Most are on Bluesky’s own servers, but there are thousands of independent ones. The “Servers” page ranks every server the Bluesky relay knows by its number of accounts, and for each server lists the accounts hosted there.
